Description
Joseph Gregor, in his book Das Zeitalter des Films (1932), identified montage as a source of rhythm. He even devoted a chapter to the assembly of segments, which he called Aufbau ("Structure"), followed by the term Schnitt in brackets. He expressed doubt, however, as to whether this concept would be understood by his readers.
