Working Equipment - Text 3
In reality one has to go further: the position of the film stock changes according to the kind of work being carried out on it. If the artist decides to draw frame by frame, a sloping bench is often used and advised; if he or she opts for a kind of animation not based on drawing one image after another but rather on the continuous treatment of the entire surface of the film stock, a flat workbench may be preferred. This was the case of the film mentioned above, but also of works such as Fiddle-de-dee and Begone Dull Care, with their abstract play of colours in movement.
