Some studio employees quickly saw the benefit they could get from these devices, at a time when feature films were generally becoming common and new shooting practices were being established, all of which contributed to a significant increase in the amount of film stock to be assembled (and thus viewed). These practices included shooting with multiple cameras, cameras equipped with turrets holding three lenses, an increased number of takes for each scene, the desire to cover a scene from different angles, etc.
