Description
According to a notice in Film-Kurier in 1928, with the film The Blue Mouse (Die blaue Maus, Guter, 1928), produced by Universum Film-Aktien Gesellschaft (UFA), for the first time in Germany the directing and the Schnitt were in the hands of different people. For this film the person responsible for the editing was given the English title Cutter (with a capital C, as with a German word), with the author of the notice emphasising that such a division of labour was common in the American system.
