A Brief History of the Script and Scriptwriting - Text 3

Beginning in 1914, with the development of the feature film, mass production and the Taylorization it imposed, the continuity script became the standard preparatory document, showing not so much the sequence of scenes but rather a list of shots, with information on the action and the intertitles, of course, but also on the location, decor, props, costumes, staging, angle of view, shot scale, camera movements and certain special or visual effects. This was a kind of shooting script for ensuring continuity in the action and the story when these shots were edited.[5]
