Description
As he approaches the foreground by means of a tracking shot on rails, a slow pan isolates Raoul Coutard occupying the entire frame behind his Mitchell before he spins the wheels of the Worrall head to turn the camera towards us: the widescreen format of the hood framing the lens and the viewfinder creates a mise en abîme effect in its depiction of the act of filming.
