Drawing Sound on Film Stock - Text 2
The sounds obtained in this manner can be joined with abstract forms produced by drawing on film, by synchronizing the movements of the forms and the acoustic modulation — this is found in Norman McLaren’s film Dots and Loops (1948). In this film, McLaren used a synchronizer, a device which enabled him to connect each sound with an image with precision.
