Viewfinders - Text 12
The main advantage of this new system was that it left the taking lens in the exact same spot relative to the scene to be recorded. This viewfinder system would ultimately be used for more than thirty years on most of the camera models developed by Mitchell, including the Standard, the NC and the BNC.
In addition to solving the parallax issue, the Mitchell’s design made it possible to leave the lens hoods, irises and filters getting more frequent use in the 1920s undisturbed. The Mitchell viewfinder also incorporated a telescope making it possible to magnify the image forming on ground glass by a factor of five or ten.
