The Pathé Professionnelle was also fitted with a new type of external film magazine that could take up to 400′ (120 m, representing 6 min. 30 s of images at 16 frames per second) of film. It could consequently be used for film shoots which were more ambitious than those relying on the Lumière Cinématographe. This meant in turn that operators frequently had to frame and focus shots with a loaded camera.
